Terre Des Langues is a company located in Tours, France that places students in host families all over the world. These foreign exchange students learn the host family's language in an accelerated way outside of the classroom. After completing a foreign exchange with Terre Des Langues in the summer of 2008, I interned at the company as an American Liaison 3 years later, helping organize global exchanges in over 12 countries and translating French/English documents.. Living and working in France taught me how to adapt independently at a young age and fully immerse myself in another culture. I am a big advocate for cultural sensitivity and learning foreign languages. There's nothing that broadens your horizons more like speaking another language in business, personal, and social settings 24/7 -- I even started dreaming in French!
